Choosing A Yacht Charter

The perfect yacht charter

Choosing A Yacht Charter

Choosing the right yacht charter depends on the requirements you have as well as the passage you plan to navigate. Some yacht charters require at least one week charter and advance notification (as well as payment) in order to confirm the booking but smaller vessels allow for hourly and daily charter. Depending on the size of the yacht and depending on the location, the price of a yacht charter can range from $5,000 to $50,000 per day. Various factors can affect the price of the yacht charter including the year the yacht was built, the duration of the yacht charter, the number of staterooms in the yacht, the length of the yacht, and the destination planned. A day yacht charter from Los Angeles to Catalina Island will surely cost less than a day yacht charter from Monte Carlo to St Tropez. The destination and location of charter will influence the price as much as the length of the yacht will. If you are traveling overnight then you will require a yacht with adequate staterooms and amenities to make the trip enjoyable. Some things such as port docking fees and fuel are not included in the price of the yacht charter and have to be take in to consideration before starting the journey. The yacht charter fees will include the use of the yacht but will not include the use of its tender (unless specified otherwise). The yacht charter fees cover the voyage, payment to the crew (Captain, Chief Engineer, Stewardess, and Deckhands), and use of the yacht for the period (as will be specified in a yacht charter agreement). Most yacht charter agreements use the MYBA agreement model and its terms for contracting a ship for hire. A charterer pays a Charter Fee to hire a yacht, pays a security deposit, and pays an Advanced Provisioning Allowance (to cover docking port fees, fuel, and other miscellaneous expenses). The Captain of the chartered yacht controls the Advanced Provisioning Allowance and uses it to maintain the operation of the vessel (re-fueling, docking, provisions) as well as to cover any miscellaneous expenses as they may arise. A yacht charter can be highly enjoyable and exciting, if the voyage is properly planned with the right yacht charter.
